Anyone in San Francisco bay area? I am visiting there on July 24th for a couple of weeks.

I am looking for a temporary room to rent. Where do Asian people post advert for rooms?

Also, anyone know any good Asian places to eat in San Fran. This will be my first time there.

Thanks.

Mmm. Couple of things. Who're you and why're you looking specifically for Asian folks posting rooms for rent?

Second of all, asking for Asian food places in the San Fran Bay Area is like asking for a cab in Time's Square. Good is all relative to your experience, so in the eye of the beholder, Panda Express might be good.

You can almost always count on Craigslist for temporary housing.
My suggestion is to start there.

I am just an Asian in his early 20's taking advantage of his time off to do some traveling.

I usually rent from Asian people because it is cheaper and they are nicer.

Out of curiosity, I searched for "asian" in craigslist temporary housing a found a few hits of asian dudes looking for temporary roommates.

So, it's typical to identify your race?

Yep. Never know when you might meet a closeted bigot. Or as one roommate ad once said, "I cook Korean food all the time. If you can't stand the smell kimchee for example, do not reply", or something like that

As someone posting an opening in a house, it was one of those things that people added on to their ad so that people could get a better feel of their housemates before talkin' on the phone or in-person interviewing/checking out the place. I personally found it pretty helpful both in searching and being found as a renter.

Yeah, that's definitely a more subtle way of posting in the ad, as compared to the forbidden way of saying "Guys only", "Ladies only", etc etc. Craigslist supposedly discourages sexist/racist postings by taking down ads that show "preferences". A lot of people post "Preferred" which translates into "Only" on craigslist. Those particular posts are supposed to be flagged off the bat, but most people don't care to.
