... for 2 more days. Anyone else happen to be out in the area wanna hang out or whatever? Or better yet, have recommendations of stuff to see.

On another note, I'm enjoying the vibe of the place. Seeing the people here makes me feel extremely inadequate and motivates me to lose weight ...

Anyone have any recommendations of stuff to do/see? Make this a sticky I suppose if this actually becomes sticky-worthy.

Thus far, my impressions/experiences:

1) Visited/snorkeled in Hanuma(sp) Bay - decent amount of fish, but most of the actual coral life is dead due to excessive amounts of schmucks stepping on them. Get there early (before 9am) to beat the ass loads of people that will flock there. That is assuming you don't mind bumping into people out in the waters....

2) Visited the Dole Plantations to witness how the yellow man was enslaved by pineapples! I'd recommend spending the whole day out in that section of the island somehow. Supposed to be a historic village thing out there, and also #3 as mentioned below.

3) Visited a small part of the North Shore to get some garlic shrimp from a busted-truck. Tasty stuff. Word is that North Shore beaches have the best snorkeling spots since tourists don't really go far enough for it.

4) Did the luau thing. I recommend Paradise Cove if you're willing to spend extra cash - the scenery is awesome.

5) Saw Tia Carrere at the Kahala Resort/Hotel! She was kind of far away, but still quite doable ;)

5a) At the Kahala Hotel, you can swim with their dolphins for $200 for an hour. The actual hotel rates I believe are $400-500 per night.

6) The Polynesian Cultural Center is a decent place to spend the day if you're on a trip with a fun bunch. I recommend paying for the good package/tickets.

7) Hiking around the Diamond Head Mountain area, assuming you like sweating your ass off.

8) Don't bother with the zoo. Apparently the aquarium is pretty decent.

9) I didn't see much in the way of nightlife/parties - unless you roll with the university kids ;)

10) The nudey bars ain't that great. Or maybe we went to the wrong one for the bachelor party. Either way, don't get your expectations up.

Mochi ice cream at Bubbie's. Take out food from Zippie's. A plate lunch from Rainbow Drive In. Shave Ice from Matsumoto's.

Visit the Costco near the University of Hawaii.

Try to jog along a section of the Ala Wai canal.

What, no Street View in Hawaii?
