No idea on the status of Kent. Really though, it's a shame. Well..it was a now or never situation. Giants was always a team that was teetering on the edge of playoffs / going home at the end of the season...and I think we just got the right elements at the wrong time and it's just at a moot point now...people are getting old...talent takes to long to develop...and SF will be in another long drought before hitting it big. Or am I just being too pessimistic? <_<

There's always the San Jose Sharks for the local Bay Area team :D They're just as local as the Giants, since they've played in both San Francisco (I was at their first game at the Cow Palace a decade or so ago) and San Jose.

I'm sure the other guys would be more than willing to take on a bet that either other the two Southern California teams will end up with a better record this year than the Sharks.
