Police Release More Detail About Juneteenth Violence
By Jon Byman
Milwaukee Police say a 33-year-old man has a broken tooth and cuts all over his face after a group of teenagers pulled him from his car and beat him following Milwaukee's Juneteenth celebration.

It happened after the festival ended in the 3000 block of north 1st Street which is a short distance from the actual festival. Police say hundreds of teenagers started kicking the man's car. Today's TMJ 4 video from the scene shows the teenagers damaging at least several cars.
The man who was pulled from his car was treated and released from a local hospital.
Meanwhile, a few blocks away a group of girls started fighting. When police went to break up the fight near 1st and Auer, the department says a 17-year-old girl started punching and kicking a 15-year veteran officer.
She hit him in his face shield, which shattered into his face. He needed three stitches and has scratches on his neck. That 17-year-old was arrested and police are recommending charges for battery to a police officer.
Police say there was also a fight earlier in the day in the 3000 block of north 1st Street. In that case, three women were fighting. Police say a 15-year-old boy tried to break up the fight when an 18-year-old man got involved in it.
According to police, the 18-year-old got angry, walked away and told the boy he was coming back with a gun. The 18-year-old did in fact return with a gun and fired five shots into a crowd where the boy was standing. The 15-year-old's 39-year-old uncle was hit in the shoulder. He was treated and released from a local hospital.
Some people think the violence takes away from the real meaning of Juneteenth
"I think it should be continued," said Earnestine Rogers. "It shouldn't be stopped because of some youngsters."
It's the second year in a row that violence has broken out at the celebration.

Noticed that the word "arrested" does not appear in TB's article. :frown:
But in GM's article, the kid that hit the cop was.
Seems like there should have been more.

Sorry, but as a former longtime Texas resident ... Many Texans do not consider Austin to be part of the state. Similarly, many Austinites do not consider Austin to be connected to Texas.
On another note, one of my former classmates previously claimed to have seen a mob attacking somebody (or maybe killing) in front of either a neighborhood watch building (or police station) on South First Street in Austin. Sorry my memory is fuzzy, he told me the story in 1995 and said it happened in the late 80s.
This story about the mob isn't about the car hitting the kid, it's about mob mentality scum running wild. All the Californians on this site should easily be able to make an analogy to L.A. race riots in the 90s.

Kids these days, with their long hair, rock music and mob attacks.
More like - Kids these days, with their short cropped fros, rap music and mob attacks.
I don't think there were any long haired rock fans in the crowd.
Different race, different culture, different generation.

I'm quite suprised they didn't throw racial elements into it.
Quite. Suprised. Are they finally going to start treating minorities as if they are white? (i.e. no race mentioned)
I sense a disturbance in the force....Spidey Sense tingling...
Anyways, seriously, the little fuckwads had to destroy a perfectly good celebration, I want to kick their asses now...

I'm not. The White establishment media is very afraid of race when the subject involves black violence against non-blacks.
Quite. Suprised. Are they finally going to start treating minorities as if they are white? (i.e. no race mentioned)
There's no such thing as minorities and clearly had the mobs in either case been White and the victim's race been what they are or black the media would have made race the central focus as would Jackson, Sharpton and Obama.
A lot more attention, a lot more outrage.

So, why do black resort to violence when in large groups?
And how come our self discipline as Asians is sometimes morphed into something weird and creepy?
Perhaps this may be the way each culture reacts to white oppression. This includes depression among Asians and the high prevalence of high blood pressure among blacks.

For people who are wondering wtf is Juneteenth:
Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day or Emancipation Day, is an annual holiday in fourteen states of the United States. Celebrated on June 19, it commemorates the announcement of the abolition of slavery in Texas. The holiday originated in Galveston, Texas; for more than a century, the state of Texas was the primary home of Juneteenth celebrations. However, one small community in Arkansas (Wilmar) boasts that its celebration, called "June Dinner" has been consistently observed and celebrated, except for one year, since approximately 1870. Since 1980, Juneteenth has been an official state holiday in Texas. It is considered a "partial staffing holiday" meaning that state offices do not close but some employees will be using a floating holiday to take the day off.[1] Thirteen other states list it as an official holiday, including Arkansas, New York, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Alaska. In California, Governor Schwarzenegger proclaimed June 19th "Juneteenth" on June 19, 2005. [2] [3] However, some of these states, such as Connecticut, do not consider it a legal holiday and do not close government offices in observance of the occasion.[4] Its informal observance has spread to some other states, with a few celebrations even taking place in other countries.
