I know of a former Methodist who became a Buddhist, and got busted in Bangkok for not getting his permits to stay on.

He teaches the Thai version of Buddhism which appears to be a mix of Hindu and Buddhist worship -- Buddhism basically got absorbed into Hinduism a few centuries after Gautuma.

That's not a great route to travel to get a Thai since he turned out to be a cad with his wife, and she separated from him.

As for this documentary, a white guy would put up with the communication challenges since most of these women want to leave Thailand badly.
