the return of asianave
Remember AsianAvenue? Back before Friendster, MySpace, Facebook, and all the other social networking sites, there was AsianAvenue, where Asians came to make friends and test the waters of online community, with lots of young people who wRoTE liKe tHiS. It was simple, rudimentary, and sometimes annoying as hell, but at the height of its popularity, it was the place to be. Well, AsianAvenue was recently reborn and relaunched as the new-and-improved AsianAve.com, aiming to reconnect everybody all over again. I've partnered up with AsianAve for a little promotion—the "What Makes You Angry?" contest, currently over at my AsianAve page. You can win prizes and stuff. I think you can only enter if you're a member... so sign up, meet some people, be my friend. My user name is "angryasianman." (At the moment, I've only got like 9 friends.)

the last i went on there i got banned with out explanation.
it's not like my clubzone/clubvibes/FNK.CA banning which has more to do with ageism where 20somethings collectively go "Augh! Lynch creepy old men!"
When I reigistered recently and had 38 to 53 plugged in as age range, NO HITS.
Gahd, not another 20something cashcow.

had a account for close to 8 years on there...
the relaunch is kind of... irrelevant...
It can't compete with myspace or facebook.
because those are mainstream but still allow APAs to segment themselves off as they see fit via privacy locks and social circles.
Once userbases migrate away... they rarely ever migrate back.
See Friendster's dying base for reference

Which of these social networking sites is the most popular? Seems everything is "dying" and I'm not too inclined to start a profile on each one. that just smacks of effort.

I'd say Myspace or Facebook is the most popular.
I have fond, albeit silly memories of AsianAvenue. Boy, was I young....er then.

I've been there for about a month now, and the AAChat is just dumb.
There are like about 3-4 troublemakers who start shit.
And some of the girls are catty with the other girls.
The only woman there who actually is nice to me is Joyic. She really puts on the flattery, and makes me appreciate myself.
Everyone else is pretty shallow. Though there are some ok people who always greet me when I go into chat.
However I hate it when I post stuff in forums and even on my blog and no one comments, even though I know people do read other people's posts.
Overall, I'd stick to facebook. My bests BFF is on there. :D
