Comedian Donnell Rawlings has been dismissed from his morning show post at Power 105.1's "Ed Lover Show with Egypt and Ashy."
Details are still emerging about yet another firing at the New York radio station, however a spokesperson for Donnell "Ashy Larry" Rawlings has confirmed that he will no longer co-host the station's morning show.
"I am not able to comment at this moment," Rawlings told SOHH, in regards to his dismissal.
Representatives at the Clear Channel station have also remained tight-lipped about Rawlings removal.
Though it still remains unclear which comments cost Rawlings his job, it appears that some listeners took offense to a joke he made on the air targetting asians and complained. In the wake of shock jock Don Imus' firing over racially insensitive statements, Power 105.1 has led the charge in pledging more responsible programming. That low-tolerance environment paved the way for the station to first suspend Rawlings, before eventually opting to terminate his contract.
Rawlings joined the show last year, along with BET personality Egypt, taking the place of the highly controversial Troy "Star" Torain when he was fired for making inappropriate comments directed at the child of Hot 97 rival personality, DJ Envy.
A longtime comedian, Rawlings shot to fame after appearing on Comedy Central's "Chappelle Show," most notably as the re-occurring character "Ashy Larry."
