They don't have a whole lot at Hollywood Video. If not at any commercialized video rental places (i.e. Blockbuster, Netflix), maybe some local places in the Bay Area?

You're around SF. Check out Le Video on 9th and Irving. (I think there's another one supposedly around the city, but I dunno.)
I'd check out Amoeba on Haight. They have some interesting stuff there.
Did Rasputin in Berkeley do flicks? I don't remember....

Sunset district is a bit out of my way, but if they have a wide selection, maybe it's worth checking out.
Oooh Haight...but I didn't know they rent out videos at Amoeba? Do they? I love going to the Haight...I'll have to stop by there.
I was actually hoping for some online rental service.

Yeh, Le Video has sections of film broken down into from countries, genres, producers/directors, etc. I think it's definitely worth checking out.
If you wanted to check out some online stuff, Rad made a suggestion here (http://forums.yellowworld.org/showthread.php?p=510936#post510936). I still have to find out what my friend uses, but I think it'd be worthless to me, as most of the film names and such info is in Chinese characters, and I'm as illiterate as they come.
I have remind myself to get a membership there, as I saw a bunch of American Classic movies I wanted to watch, but never had the time/chance to.

Actually i'm looking for the independent films shown on KQED and documentaries. I missed out on the films from the asian film festivals, so I want to catch up on some.

A lot of them are hard to find because they never found distributors- look on the film's website where to find them or an organization like the Center for Asian Media/NAATA on where to get these and the documentaries. Most of them aren't widely distributed and acquired through academic license.
