Ouch, the Hollywood Reporter had THIS to say about Lucy Liu's wanna-be Blade, but not quite Blade, because it isn't Blade, made by the guy who did Snake's on a Plane (written I believe)...

IDP/Destination Films/Samuel Goldwyn Films' "Rise: Blood Hunter" was in 24 theaters and grossed an estimated $25,500. The film, an R-rated thriller starring Lucy Liu and Michael Chiklis, had a dismal per-theater average of $1,063.

The movie only showed in Seattle, Phoenix and Minneapolis (sp?) either way, it tanked pretty badly. 24 theaters isn't exactly a ringing endorsement. Is her career over or what? She's had two really God-awful flops; Code name; Coon, I mean; Cleaner and this Rise Blade knockoff. Lucky Number Slevin was a failure, at least domestically. Her appearance on Ugly Betty was just Ling Woo/Ally McBeal Part II! Is this the end of the line for Lucy Liu or what?
