Did i pay too much?

so like yeah, the car that i have is my very first one that i ever bought for myself... so like i'm pretty naive when it comes to the cost of repairs and stuff... its all new to me...

anyways, i spent a total of 172.53 today... i bought one tire... and they replaced my brake pads for me...

tire- 56.23$
labor price- 8.99$
brake pads- 29.99
labor price- 70.00$
tax- 7.32$

TOTAL- 172.53$
and i'm just wondering-- did i pay too much??
Errr... i'm kinda afraid to know the truth.. but yeah, please be honest... so i know better next time...

that's nothing. i've paid about $6000 the last 6 mos for upgrades and customizations.

new motor $2900 installed
new distributor $450 installed
New rims and tires $1500 installed
New shocks and springs $1000 installed

that sounds resonable...lets see...new motor 5000$, new brakes + hubs 700$, turbo goodies 1000$, - sell sum goodies - 1000, - motor sell 500, new wheels + 800 + 400 tires, misclaneous repairs 600$, + spares 500$.

Anyone here drive a performance car----Mustang Corbra, Saleen, CR-5, Boxster, M3, etc......etc......etc.....?
I mean a "real performance care", not the typical "rice rockets" you see everywhere in LA. I see them everywhere.....The majority of them are still slow (just look fast)..........I mean come on, putting a big exhaust, air intake, and headers not does not constitute performance upgrade. Just because the manufacture states 15Hp for headers, 15 HP for exhaust, and 20 HP for air-intake DOESNT mean your vehicle is going to acheive a 50 HP gain.

Oh yeah, almost forgot............those ridiculous body kits...Wouldn't adding 30 lbs of fiberglass or urethane to the car weigh it down even more......I was at stop light two days and this civic w/ all of the said items above, rev his engine at me....I guess to impress his g/f.......When the light turned green, I smoke the dude. I mean gosh, his car looked like a rocket ship, but couldn't perform........So pitiful :P

i think mine, tre's, and rens cars count cuz they can smoke most stangs and stuff. because i think that rice rockets counts more toward the N/A-Honda crowd.

we are forced induction whores.

- ren has a SW11 MR2 w/ 291hp@wheel (wheel x 1.15~1.25 = crank hp) hez continuely upgrading it

- tre has an older AW Mr2 supercharged and a scooby WRX. tre's mr2 when it moves is pretty fast

- i have a 240sx w/ a silvia K's engine put out bout 230@wheel using a T04e .60 AR/ T25 combo turbocharger i should be once we get parts be making 250-270hp@wheel once my injectors 550cc x4, ECU Power FC stand alone w/ commander, and HKS EVC 6 come in and sum tuning done to it on XS's dyno. my suspension is set up w/ adjustable cuircuit shocks and sum hard springs and other junk. also i set my own allignment specks.

- karizma definitely has a rice rocket as she has no car an can sit on a ricebowl and scrape along the ground.

- jizza is sumwhere around here too he has a supra turbo putting 400 sumthing hp @ wheel via a single turbo.

my brother might be getting an integ...im so tempted to rice the shit outta it just to get the ricer gene out of my system so i dont like accidentally rice out my own car hahaha...and i kinda wanna see the look on a mustang or camaro driver's face when an integ with a fat kit...streetglows...and a gt wing blasts by them haha...*shrugs* dont tell me none of ya'll havent gotten that urge...i KNOW you want to show those domestics wassup :D

just make it clean, stock no mods orange corners, debadge it, clean interior (stock), have it detailed then learn how to drive w/ that car then buy a performance car.

although some bodykits do look good when done right....
and let her rice out her car haha its ok girls always give cars
their "Cute" look with the babyblue or pink or whatever

but I like the sleeper look so much Im thinking of getting Zzz for a vanity license plate..

Im so tempted to even go single exhaust...

accord is kinda a large platform its hard to find forced induction other then the Comptech supercharger kit. the automatic tranny is also another issue.

right now im helping my friend build her 2001 accord v6 coupe. we're gonna just drop it w/ a good spring shock combo like 5zigen linear rate spring and KYB AGX, pop on sum Blitz technospeed Z2 or 5 zigen FN-01R in 18x7-18x7.5 size, 5izigen or Greddy exhaust which we get cheap and be done w/ it maybe www.illusionlighting.com can give us a audoi s4 projector/ hid set up for cheap since the owner is my buddy. note this is a girls car. accord i feel is too large and slow to make worth performance modifications. plus its outa her budjet.

and for the money cant equal my friend selling her car and buying a WRX or audi 1.8t or any other factory forced induction car.

Watch out for those KYB AGX setups. For some cars they have entirely too little suspension travel in the front struts.

You'll run the risk of bottoming out on a speed bump and/or having the front of the car rise up like a yeast-filled pan of dough. It will look way too gross with the rear set at a nice height and the front with a 2 inch gap in the wheel well.

thats why u use shortened linear springs its what we do in RWD community hence short stroke shocks can only be used w/ shorten linear spring which the 5zigen is...i think dam 5 chicken!
