Lucky! Paris is probably better without BF's.
well.....it's actually for our 4th anniversary.
and also cuz he didn't take me anywhere last year like he promised. i was only planning on going to london to see my sister but he said let's go to france instead and meet up with her.

In May- Zagreb, Croatia for the World Table Tennis Championships, followed by places in and around Milan, Italy, for the Giro d'Italia (Tour of Italy) bicycle race and hopefully an Inter Milan soccer match.

have to get out the czech republic, hands down place to go...
Let me know how it turns out. I'm thinking about visiting Prague and northern Bohemia (the part closest to Dresden, Germany).
Don't know when it'll happen.
(I think there was a newspaper article within the past year or two about a North Korean garment sweatshop in Bohemia.)
anyone know if tickets can be transferred? if yes then i have one ticket to paris, all paid for, hotel included. only caveat is....you have to go with me.
if not, i will go by myself since it would be awkward to go with my ex. should be exciting....10 days in another country by myself.

Greece is really beautiful in the summer, especially the islands. You can travel around and explore.

We're thinking a stop through NYC on our way elsewhere in September. Otherwise it's the yearly trip to Taiwan in December unless I get knocked up again. That is NOT going to be a fun planeride with a 1.5 year old.
I'd really like to fit a week in Hawaii somewhere in there. Somehow. Someway.

Hey, for Greece and Czech Republic, can you guys post pics and do a wee write-up after? I'm sure I'm only one of many of us that are interested. Specifically, I'd be very keen on where you landed and how you get around.

I went to the Czech Republic, Austria and Hungary a couple years ago. I can do a write-up with pics. Getting around was very easy.

Oh, I do hate to make a shameless plug, but I feel I must share this with you because I promise you won't be disappointed. If you get the chance and you're craving some delicious Chinese/Thai/Vietnamese food, check out my family restaurant:
L'Indochine
13, Bd Pierre-Mendes-France
77600 Bussy Saint Georges
I'll be there myself in the middle of next month.
Also, not to steal the thunder from you in your thread, but I'm wondering if anyone has suggestions for Italy during that same time frame (besides the Giro d'Italia)? I'm in Cyprus for work right now, but I'll be leaving soon enough.
^thanks. i'll keep that in mind.
too bad we're not there the same time cuz a guide would be useful.

Yeah, I know... I'll be there just a little bit after you leave. Luckily, I have a guide of sorts there already. I haven't been there since I was like, 15. I'm pretty excited. I hope you have a great time! And please, if you do go to the restaurant, give me your thoughts.

On that note, I got some Austria notes and pics as well. We could pile it all up together and do a region. You know, I actually like that idea.

I have some experience with Italy, Turkey, and Egypt (if we're counting that region). A small smattering of Greece (only Athens tho, the islands come in a few months!)

Eeep. Mom driving ya batty?
If for whatever reason your travel partner (after screening people that wouldn't drive you up the walls) starts to make you start double thinking your travel arrangements, what've you done to make do with the situation?
yes. i already can't stand my mom at home.
i love my mommy, but jeebus.

did you fuck a french guy yet? you should go for one of those black french guys. they're studs.
you know, it kinda sucks when you travel so far to get away from someone, but then the person you're with keeps reminding you about them.
case in point. ever since we got here, my mom has been talking about my ex and how i finally woke up, and etc. i'm here, trying to enjoy my escargot and i get this. my sister's flying in today from london to visit until monday. we will bully our mom.

What district?

What district?
There used to be a pensioners' housing area near the old Songshan tobacco factory on guangfu nan lu? Closest subway stop was Sun Yat Sen Memorial Hall. Anyhow, it was relocated same road but about 10 min north by car when everything was cleared out for the new stadium. I'm not quite oriented at the newer place yet. We're still within walking distance of Dun Hua road and streets close to that. I distinctly remember walking by the Hooters one morning if you know where that is. Not much Hooting going on there though.
lol. I found a pic of the factory. http://english.taipei.gov.tw/web/upload/109479454681900.jpg
I was kinda teasing you. I know everyone hates crying babies on the plane. And at the terminal. And at boarding. And at passport control. Ah... the running up and down the aisles. The kicking of the seat in front of them. The standing up and turning around to stare at the person behind them. Betcha can't wait, can you?

Ah, so you guys will be roughly in the center of the triangle formerd by Jhongshan District, Songshan District, and Jhongjheng District?

I wouldn't know. I have the singular ability to frighten kids into catatonia just by staring at them.

In two weeks, Hawaii trip at Honolulu/Waikiki. For a friend's wedding.
Major prob is, a friend who was suppose to share a hotel room with me flaked out. And there's no one else to I can stay with (sucks that my girlfriend can't make it :frown: ). So looking for hostels around the area since I'm on a budget for this particular trip.
Any suggestions/experiences/etc? Thanks in advance.
