This is an excerpt from a post from a girl I know from another board I frequent:
-----------------
I'm a little old fashion with a whole lot of unconventional tossed in.
I have a hard time with men approaching/speaking/addressing me with terms of endearment,ie honey, baby, moma, sweetie, etc. I see it as disrespectful and rude. Such should be reserved for your S.O. are how else shall these sentiments maintain their meaning. Which is also why it pisses me off.
I think Miss or Mame, depending on the age. (Absloutely Fabulous, anyone)

^__ Sarcastic wretch.
Usually, Ms/Miss _________ . or their first names.
If I'm friends with them, then the terms of endearment come out.
Like "sugar tits". o.O

Does anyone besides construction workers and hustlers call strange women "baby" and "momma"?
I'll stick with the much more polite "Hey you, c'mere"

honey,baby,moma,sweetie
How about bitch or hoe? At least that's what I hear most of the time.
I mean, what's wrong with honey, sweetie, baby, etc? Especially given the alternative. This is a serious question, I'm not trying to be funny at all.

I heard a patron refer to the lady serving coffee as "darlin'".
Are youuu from thu southhhh?
Ma'am sounds old fashioned. If it's all about getting a person's attention, why doesn't "excuse me" work by itself?
a board member at the museum has taken to calling me "dear". i think he likes me.
i hate when people call me ma'am. especially by people who are the same age or older than me. wtf? do i LOOK like i'm 50? next time some lady does that i will call her ma'am too.

Miss.
If you get friendly, make it miss Nickname, then drop the miss if I want.

Miss.
If you get friendly, make it miss Nickname, then drop the miss if I want.
For instance "Miss YATCH"
then later on you just call her "YATCH?"
I say "hi" and "so ... um ...", and sometimes address them by their names if I know them ... is this good enough?

Favourite one: Hey man, sup, whatsup, sup dude, hey guy (I love these. THe more offended the better. Its a good kind of offended unlike the reaction you get from "baby" and "sugar tits")
Lesser ones: Hello, hi
Anything else screams "Hey wants some dick?"

I usually use
"Miss first last"
my cousins have been using "hey bay bay" from that hella annoying song at the club lately.

I've been referring to some of my female friends as "woman", lately.
My wife and her girlfriends do it to each other, so I thought I could get away with it.

I don't call 'em ma'am or miz; I just compliment them on their tattoos.
