lately, my tastebuds have started acting strange and don't 'taste' the food i'm eating the same way they used to. the only theory i've heard is that this usually happens when your stomach isn't feeling so well, but is there any other reason for why i can't really "taste" what i'm eating?
are you taking any medications? because certain medications alter your taste bud receptors, and gives it a mediciney after taste, which can last for as long as a day.

Looks like it only took 20 minutes for people to start posting tasteless comments on this thread.

xD oh wells. no booze, no medication.
my ear seems to be troubling me though. could it be connected?

doubt it. but then again, instead of me sitting here answering one vague symptom at a time without getting the complete picture, plus the fact that i'm a 1st year med student, which basically means i have no clinical skills what so ever, you'd be WAY better off just going to see a doctor if it's bothering you.

i think i'm a carbon copy of my dad. that's the answer, fo sho!
i became lactose intolerant the same age he did, and i ended up having his taste bud problems just a couple of months later! uuurgh.

maybe it's a mild brain infection of some kind.
i had this funny feeling in my right hand for a couple days, but had been getting brief headaches after a couple weeks of an infection in my left ear.
but i know something is up cos of a slight change in balance.
can u taste the five tastes still: sour, salty, sweet, bitter and umami?
