My favorite in the group is definitely Freddy Mercury!

He could also be considered African because he was born on the African island of Zanzibar.

Yet he lived most of his life in England I believe.

So he was an Asian/African/European Zoroastrian racially White bisexual rock star............ and Asian Hero!!!

Why is Mother Teresa on the list?....................

because she conducted most of her charitable work in india? :D
hehe jkjkjk.

to my knowledge, she did have indian citizenship even though she was originally albanian + born within the ottoman empire (modern-day macedonia).

there's some other non-asians on the list too.

these are people asians in asia look up to. i can see that. even sammi cheng sang a song about mother teresa which i THINK was written when she passed away, not sure.

Moreso than, say, Z Z (http://ziyiforever.primenova.com/)? There's at least one person on this board that would consider that snub an outrage.

Seems like a more descriptive title should be "Heroes in Asia", although I'm not sure how much of a hero the Japanese view General MacArthur.

But then they threw in Jerry Yang, and he seems more of an Asian-American "hero", but maybe he's famous in Taiwan.

Ehh, they should just call it "Famous yellow/brown people and the imperialists that loved them."
