The Sync feature - if you have something that works with it, like a Windows Mobile Smartphone - works so much better. I also like the design more, but that's a minor point.

On the downside, it still seems to take a killer amount of RAM when watching a video. I stick to using Media Player Classic for that.

Not sure; I've been using the public beta since last year (October??) Somewhere along the line Automatic Update upgraded it to the release version. Couldn't tell the difference until somebody pointed out that the stop and repeat/shuffle buttons had their icons changed.
