Just another question I made to attempt to breathe life into the Hapa forum, but polls seem to die too soon, so it's a shame.

I went, but i was a baby when i did. My mom says that everyone said i looked like a little michael jackson (keep in mind this was 1988 so michael was still black, lol)

I would love to go back, and i hopefully will be able to sometime within the next couple of years. It's one of the things that's either at the top or near the top of my "to-do" lists.

so which place do you feel more comfortable or more "at home". I'd have to say in the USA, but still I feel more comfortable around Koreans.

Around Koreans or Korean Americans? I like the US best myself, probably gonna go with American citizenship when the time comes to choose... Also American taxes are a lot lower than Japanese.

except for the estate tax. Also if you give up your American citizenship, the tax authorities presume the only reason is to avoid US taxes, and so they keep on taxing you for another seven years. Bastards.

Why is that? They treat you differently or what? I have found that I'm uncomfortable with Korean-Koreans 'cuz I can't speak the LANGUAGE as good.

The ones who treat me bad are the KAs (not all of them) but most of them see me as a threat to their Korean-ness I guess. KA's will be the first ones to tell me how I am nothing like them and that I shouldn't go around trying to act Korean when I am not.

Koreans on the other hand will be very quick to embrace me as one of their own, even with the slight language problems. It's kinda ironic.

*Shrug* That's cool. Yeah I get the same bullshit from KA's too. But I think I'm more like them than like Koreans in Korea. So, while some of them can be real JERKKKS, the cool ones are still cool.

Yea, I've met cool ones too, but none that I have forged a long standing close relationship with. But all the Korean people I still keep in contact with...

I too feel more like KAs than Koreans, but many KA's don't feel the same way.
