(I'm not sure this is the right place to post, but..)
Who thinks NorCal people seem a bit...cold and less sociable than other people? I'm talking about general chit-chat with strangers. Recently, I've lived in a new school with a bunch of Americans from all over the country. I've grown up in the Bay Area so I didn't really notice this until now. Everyone I meet is much more friendly and receptive to general conversation.

Hm, since I am from NorCal, I can't quite say for usre, but I think we're fine people. You may be feeling that the people around you are more friendly and receptive because (judging from your location) you've just started college, and everyone in college wants to make new friends.

I think people in California are not friendly in general (unless you are part of their group), but will go out of their way to be nice little hypocrites, if they think they can use you. Then when you aren't paying attention, they will gladly stab you in the back. People in California, in general, seem to care more about thinking they are better than everybody else in the universe.

Ouch, Craig. That really hit me. :( I'm sorry you think that way.

Every woman I've ever met from California was crazy as hell. I know, five or six women out of the millions and millions y'all have over there is not enough to make a completely true statement, but I don't care. Calfiornia women are crazy.
The nicest, friendliest people I've ever met were from the Midwest. Nebraska, Iowa, Minnesota, that whole part of the country is so friendly it almost scared me the first time I went up there.
I tell you one thing though - southern hospitality is a FUCKIN LIE. Or at least, it probably only applies to white people. I wouldn't expect if you're a minority, especially if you're Mexican (I almost think these white people down here hate Mexicans more than black folks!).
