View Full Version : Is there a Japanese equivalent of the Altima?

Is there a Japanese version of the Nissan Altima? I can't seem to find it on their site.

I know that they almost all go by different names, like:

Sunny = Sentra
Fairlady Z = 350Z

So is there a Japanese Altima or something like it?

They have the March, Cefiro, Primera, Skyline, Gloria, X-Trail, Prairie, Serena, Elgrand, Infiniti, President, Taxi, Urvan, Forklift. I took that from the Hong Kong website.

The Primera would be the Altima from the looks of it.

Btw, did you read about Uzi Nissan being squashed by Nissan Motor Co because he's been using Nissan.com? I think that is pretty messed up.

actually ren28, that is incorrect.

primera P12 is related to the G20 more then altima, the primera P12 uses a QG18DE(150ps) and QR20DD (180ps) engines. P11 Primera/ g20 was the last model, the current primera is mostly for the european market and in its market competes w/ BMW 318i and 320i, accord 2.0 TSI, Allpha romeo 164 Inline 4 models. the P12 primera has 2 body styles sedan and wagon and uses CVT transmissions exclusively through out the line (manual tranny option on top model though). no v6 engines though one model does use the altima's base QR25De engine (175ps). chassis is different and smaller Primera is kinda related to the sunny/ sentra line and shares alota components with it as does the current bluebird mentioned bellow.

altima is orginally the japanese bluebird (different engine though SR20det) in its last 2 incarnations, the current altima is only for the northamerican market and is produced in Sunnyvale TN, usa alongside the sentra and frontier pickup.
the bluebird and altima have diverged because in japan there are already 2 large cars in the altimas price range nissan sells the cefiro (i35) and Laurel. the bluebird sylphy is a smaller car powered by the same engines as the Primera but less expensive.

the Israeli guy, right? Yeah I had an israeli coworker who was telling me about that one, he was really pissed off.

its over www.nissan.com vs www.nissanna.com nissan north america is sueing uzi nissan for website squating over his www.nissan.com. sadly they will crush him.
