Sound problems

Anybody have any idea what might cause sound problems on my computer speakers. And, yes, I already made sure its plugged in. I'm still getting sound from them. The problem is that the sound just seems so much lower than before where I have trobule hearing the music.

check your sound icon, double click, make sure "wav" is all the way up.

and also check if weird applications have your sound turned down low. make sure anything you've used have them turned up.

True enough, it could be the application itself. What type of noise are you hearing exactly, and also the sound card type. Is it older or more recent?

Thanks, man. I had clicked it once, and made sure that the volume was all the way up. But, I guess I also had to doubleclick it.
