They should. Pockmarks are caused by the pox. English is such a messy language, but very forgiving.

Pockmarks in general, however, do not necessarily need to be caused by the pox. Frankly, if I'm cursing someone with pockmarks, I'd rather be sure that they were caused by pox of some variety (cow, monkey, small, chicken, or other) rather than acne.
