woohoo, Hou Hsiao Hsien. he's a great director. i went to university with his daughter, but i never met her.

Has anyone seen this? It's only going to be released on dvd in September. It's not screening anywhere here. Damn it.

It came and sort of went over this way last month. Reviews were mixed on it, probably didn't help cinema sales much. It's been out on DVD for a while in Chinatown from the Asian overseas markets, and costs almost half than the ticket prices, so I'll probably just pick this up like that as I think I'd enjoy watching this leisurely at home as I did for "2046."

I see. Thanks for the additional info. I was thinking the same thing about the leisurely aspect rather than hunt around.. and before you know it, it's already out on dvd. I'm sure it's already out in Chinatown but I haven't looked. I'm in no hurry.
