I really don't think it matters overall. Some people say that it may be even better to eat after you run because an elevated metabolism after exercise may facilitate more efficient burning and processing after a meal. Also, eating pure processed sugar in the first 2 hours after a workout is helpful in restoring glycogen to muscles are they've been exhausted (allowing you to better prepare for your next workout). Then again, the downside to that may be the tendency to overeat if you feel more hungry after physical activity. I also prefer working out before eating primarily because if I wait till afterward I have to wait until much of the food is digested and I might feel tired if I ate a lot.
yeah. i skip working out altogether because of food coma if i eat before i work out.

I guarantee that nothing is more fun than sparring and getting punched in the gut a little less than an hour after eating. I swore off eating hours before MA class afterwards.
Also, I once made the mistake of eating a small meal directly before lifting. I swear to God I thought I would collapse during cardio.

At 50 pounds, the Mt. Olympus burger sold at Clinton Station Diner in Clinton, N.J., is the largest hamburger sold in the world. Made with 25 pounds of beef, the burger goes for $99 and takes about an hour to cook. The diner’s owner Mike Zambas says that they sell at least one of the mega-burgers a week but, despite the $1,000 prize, no one has had the stomach to eat it all.

Nothnig wrong with spoiled meat, at least it was when I was a meat eater.
I wouldn't cook the thing up as a normal steak (ie, a slab on a BBQ). Dice in cubes, marinate well and brown. After that I'd stew meat well.
Problem solved.
Word of warning though, my stomach not set up right so it take something major to give me food poisoning.

I just tried Pho for the first time.
I've been living here in DC for a few months now and there are Pho shops all over the place.
I recalled a YW Pho thread a while back and decided to give it a try. I had it to go where the broth came in a plastic takeout tub and all the meat and veggie stuff came in a styrofoam container.
I like it.
I liked it even better when I discovered the sliced hot peppers at the bottom of the foam container! Man they pack a nice kick!
I had the sliced brisket and beef tripe. I should probably try some other vaireties too.

Just went to my friend's wedding banquet. (The actual wedding was in October, and the following banquet was cooked by the Korean Church that he and his wife attend. Tonite's thing happened to be an encore banquet for all the folks that he left behind up here when he moved to So Cal, and therefore could not make it to his wedding.)
Had Cider, Jasmine Tea, Chrysanthemum Tea and Ice Water to wash everything down.
Everything would consist of Mu-Shu Pork in Iceberg Lettuce Leaves, Imitation Shark Fin Soup, Peking Duck, Fukien Fried Rice, Stir Fried Shrimp and Scallops over a bed of Snap Peas, Carrots, and Straw Mushrooms, Abalone & Mustard Greens & Shittake Mushrooms, Broccoli & Beef, Steamed Rock Cod, & Wedding Cake.
Considering I had stomach flu 2 days prior, and I'm almost fully recovered, I couldn't enjoy the grub as much as I'd like. But it was still good. Hey, Hubert, come to SF Area again so we can get out grub on, dang it. I'm hungry again. >_<

Homemade Potato Flour Gnochi in chicken stock, spaghetti in homemade tomato sauce (roma tomatoes, onions, mushrooms, peppers, assorted herbs, chicken stock, dash of sugar, oven roasted garlic), homemade garlic infused meatballs the size of a chihuahua's head, toasted dutch crunch and homemade garlic spread, salad composing of avacado, cherry tomatoes, romaine lettuce, olives, pepperoni, fresh mozarella cheese and simple olive oil and vinegar dressing

Chitlins are the sort of thing you only eat if you really, really trust whoever prepared them.
Anywho, I'm on a diet now. So, instead I will say what I wished I had eaten last: an extra-large pepperoni and sausage pizza.

I kinda forgot how nasty natto is. Never again.
There's only so much I can do to make myself more Japanese, and that's not one of them.
I swear every step of making/packaging/eating/looking at natto is designed to make you wonder about the wisdom of your choice to consume this concotion.
For those who don't know:
Natto comes in small square Styrofoam containers and at first glance looks like a bunch of white beans past their expiration date. Added to this delightful mix is often a raw egg. The raw egg and spoiled beans, which are already gooey to start with, are then mixed vigorously with chopsticks for maximum gooeyness. Often the rotten bean/egg mix is raised up with the chopsticks to demonstrate just how gross the concoction really is.
Next comes the eating of the beast. Often it is eaten over rice, or even grosser, it can be mixed in with salad bits to make the Natto salad, a school lunch favorite. Eating Natto is a struggle and if not eaten carefully the gooey gunk gets everywhere. This will make Japanese people laugh, but it really is not much fun. To eat the goods without disaster it is recommended that the bowl or dish with the Natto in it is lifted close to the mouth, then some Natto with rice (or by itself if in Natto salad) is taken with the chopsticks and put in the mouth. So far this is normal eating etiquette, but the Natto will leave a trail of slime from the plate to the mouth. To fix this the chopsticks are then spun around and around the slime until the trail is broken and then the chopsticks can be cleaned in the mouth.
Oh yeah, I forgot - it smells like running shoes with a sneakerful of the rankest mansweat mixed in.
i have been eating soup and salad for lunch the past 2 weeks. seriously. the same salad, and the same 2 soups, which i exchange every other day. i can probably eat that same combo for the rest of the time i am working at this location.

same here. love garlic.
especially grilled whole garlic cloves.
that meant that memorial weekend i peeled A LOT of garlic.
it's cumbersome but i use disposable gloves. i hate the smell too.
have you tried soaking your hand in vinegar+water?
i use this combo for just about everything. air deodorizer, a Lysol replacement, washing veggies.
i have a feeling it might work with the garlic smell on your hand
