It's got what I assume is supposed to be a countdown to the movie's release, but it's counting down to July 4, 2006. At least, that's what it shows on my computer. Whoops.

It's gonna suck, take my word for it, why can't they just be happy with the original Transformers movie, i thought that movie rocked.

Just like the TMNT movie from 1990, but they're going to remake that too, with a PG rating, clear evidence of its suckiness.

I love Transformers too, and that's why i don't intend on seeing it, because i know it'll suck, this is a remake you know, don't let the hype suck you in, there are a million billion ways in where this could suck ass.

Apparently Bumblebee is going to be a Chevy Camaro (http://www.leftlanenews.com/2006/05/31/new-chevy-camaro-to-star-transformers-movie/) concept vehicle in the film, with Optimus being a firetruck. Okay.

The teaser looks good, but i prefer to be cynical, i mean i know they'll change some parts of the story, but what exactly are they doing on Mars? oh god i hope they're not going to make the Transformers some kind of 'lost Martian civiliazation'.

I know it sounds dumb, but part of me can't help but think it's true.

By the way, they've added a clean, high-res version of the teaser to the official movie site, www.transformersmovie.com. Maybe they decided to drop it early since it already made it onto youtube?

Still, where are the Autobots in all this, and why would they be on Mars to begin with, in the original story they crash landed on Earth, and took the forms of local human machines in order to blend in with the local populace while they recollect and reorganized themselves.

I'd think that a race of advanced alien robots, in the event of an all out invasion would choose to keep their own forms rather than choose that of more backward machines on a primitive planet like earth.

Then again i suppose it could be argued that there would be a small scouting party needed to prepare for the invasion, and the autobots would come to stop them, in order to protect the planet's resources from the Deceptocons, who could use in a the civil war.

Yeah i guess that storyline could work, but still i'd remain cynical if i were you, it's to tempting to rate a movie like this PG-13, and when that happens, you know there's a good chance it can still be F'ed up, like with the Robocop sequals.

I honestly think if they get the personalities of the Autbots and Decepticons down, I'll be happy. VW wouldn't allow them to use their car for Bumblebee, so he has to be a Camaro now, but that's a minor gripe.

I doubt that this change will mean that Bumble can maintain his personality, traditionally because of his form Bumble has been the weakest, smallest and most fuel effecient Autobot, that handicap helped to shape and form his personality, the Cameroo is nothing like VW beetle, it's a muscle car, you can't very well have that personality with a muscle car.

Update: Peter Cullen will voice Optimus Prime in the movie (http://filmforce.ign.com/articles/720/720477p1.html)! He's the guy who voiced Optimus in the cartoon. Sweet!

Was that really it 'cause VW withheld consent or was GM just willing to put up actual money to get their vehicles into the film? The cast of Autobots is basically a commercial for GM. They've got a Camaro, Solstice, some GMC truck, and an H2 based vehicle. Ford is the only other manufacturer represented as far as automakers are concerned (Saleen Mustang).

Saw the theatrical trailer attached to "Night at The Museum" (Review to be submitted later, if not done by someone else later).

I have to admit. There were guys (like my friend and I) who screamed in glee when we saw Optimus transform. FRIGGEN awesome CG. Can't wait.

I noticed Tyrese too... this movie is either gonna tank or take-off, no in between here. And why Tyrese, and why isn't Frank Welker doing the voice of Megatron in the movie, but they actually hired him to do the voice for the video game based on the movie?

Saw a pic of Frenzy, hated it.
Saw a pic of Starscream, not bad.

All-in-all, too many humans involved, especially when one of them is Tyrese. All they needed next was Taye Diggs and Gun-kata! Can't honestly say I'll go see it.
