nobody should be surprised at the new wave of the Yellow Peril sentiments. even if the Chinese government was a democracy, it would still happen. look at what happened with Japan in the 80s. it has a democratic government and people still had horribly racist attitudes toward the country and its people, because it was challenging American dominance.
