Did anyone see the new Harry Potter movie yet? I saw it last night (or, rather, very early this morning) and I enjoyed it very much. I think overall it stayed true to the book. The casting was just dead-on, and Kenneth Branagh was great as Professor Lockhart! I only wish John Cleese had a bigger role.

One of my friends saw it last night at the Sony Metreon, in San Francisco. She supposedly had to buy her tickets something like 2 weeks in advance for the 8 o'clock show. The movie is supposed to be #2 in the "most tickets sold" category, just behind The Titanic, I think she mentioned.

And.. another one of my friends saw it in Berkeley.

I got my ticket through the RA in my dorm. For free! (It was a residence hall-sponsored thing) :D

It was sooo not a kid's movie. I think the spiders will give me nightmares.

I know this is pretty off-topic but I found this extremely humorous in regards to the first movie:

Yeah picked up The Ring, Harry Potter and Half Past Dead along with some CD's. What can I say the guy hooks me up. My man (the owner) was on the local news here when UPN 9 was doing a news story on Harry Potter bootlegs in Chinatown. Lol.

Haven't watched them yet though. Come to think of it, I haven't even watched the first Harry Potter I bought on bootleg yet, it's still in the box. I'm kinda behind on movies, way behind. ;)

I saw it last night, theatre, not bootleg, and it was pretty good. It was long, and I was tired, so it seemed long, but we enjoyed the movie. Yeah, the spiders were pretty creepy, by girl kept jumping and grabbing at the spider scenes.

All around, it was a good, entertaining movie.

It was good. A little too long, though, especially since I was way too eager to get back to the hotel room that night.

Bought the DVD. The little Draco Malfoy kid cannot act.

Most memorable quote -- Moaning Myrtle: Oh, Harry? If you die down there, you're welcome to share my toilet.
