If this is Miss Asia USA, then my friend's roommate is one of them. I don't know which one. I only met one of her roommates. Probably Miss China or Korea. I can't remember.

Korea is cute... but Thailand is pretty.

i'm just saying she looks too normal. back in high school, there were girls cuter than her in my class. there weren't any girls that looked like india or china tho. and ya, malaysia does remind me of mcbeal somewhat.

And all the women are doing it on their own volition, no one is forcing them. I'm pretty sure they knew what a pageant entails, going into it.

I mean isn't woman free to make her own decisions in regards to what she want's to do? What's wrong with flossing it for the world to see?

Some of them do it for money or fame or as a platform to jumpstart their career. I mean, how good would this look on your resume "Ms. Universe, 1997" ?? It'd impress the hell out of me for sure. And besides... it's a lot better than posing in nudie magazines.

They DO have pageants like that. Unfortunately, not a lot of MEN want to BE IN pageants like that.

Women do this by their own choice. It gives girls confidence and makes stupid but pretty girls think they're useful. I don't mind it. I think it'd be kinda fun. And I don't think it's purpose is for men to drool over them. Men don't seem too interested in the pageant world, anyway.

i'm not not picking miss india cause she supposedly looks fat or whatever, cause i actually dont' see it at all. it's just her face just doesn't look very good. in the other pic, she looked okay, but i couldn't see her face. now that i see her face, i don't think she's very pretty...

I agree. And walking around in SF too. But maybe that's just our view of beauty as seen by Americans. Asian-American beauty may differ somewhat from Asian-Asian beauty.

And Vietnam can and should do so much better than who they put out. I'm disappointed in her.

I saw prettier women walking around in Saigon and Hue. Hell, I saw better looking Thai transvestite men in Bangkok than Miss Thailand, not to mention better looking Thai women.

after the riots, they are moving the Miss World Pageant to London.

I think they should just not bother with it.

Oh, so do I! Don't they have any respect for the people that died?

On a side note, did you know that there hasn't been an official Miss Canada since 1991? That's because the government abolished it because it was, and I quote, "degrading to women". Go Canada!

Isn't it also degrading to women that the government is deciding what they can and can't do? That the government, in effect, is saying, "We think you are too dumb to know not to join this competition that we must use legal means to explicitly prevent you from doing so?"
