We've initiated a petition and letter writing campaign in response to the below article about a Filipina student who alleges she flunked out of her nursing school because of discrimination. This article was published in the November 6, 2002 issue of the Seattle Times.

This petition I have signed because I believe that it is a racial issue and any racial attitude that prompted people to sign this petition is just and warrented as it is a racial issue.

I believe what Ms. Bautista has to say. This is an outrage and something must be done about it. Letting her finish her schooling and graduating is not ENOUGH. The person or persons who are responsible for flunking Ms. Bautista and other students because of the color of their skin or because they speak with an accent need to be either relieved of their positions or be dealt with administratively in the most severe manner!
And if anyone is familiar with the Seattle area will know that Everett Washington is a bordline "Podunk" town that calls themselves a city....I totally believe that there could be racist tendencies in Everett....

Time out here, what exactly was racist?
That her teacher picked her out for that demonstration? Dude! Filipinos are dark people too, not all of us are light skinned!!!
EVERYONE, THE WOMAN IS 40 YEARS OLD, how many 18 year old freshmans, can handle their 1st year of college??? Is it wrong for her teacher to tell her how hard it will be being that old in college??? She took it the wrong way when he was giving some good advice.
It's too bad the article doesn't list the rest of the SUPPOSED instances of discrimination.
Yo, maybe she ain't got the goods to pass the class, after all?
