Yeah, Kas, if you pull out now, you leave with 1/3rd less school debt. This profession fucking sucks. There's a reason why they have to compensate people so well to put up with it.
But in my case, I'm putting up with this shit, not being compensated, and, unlike public interest attorneys, I can't even say that I'm doing something good for the community or something that I feel good about. Damn...
BTW, I was at work 'til 9:00 today. HA!

I was at work once from 6:00 am to about 9:00 pm. I don't feel too bad about it cause I made a shitload of overtime that month. I do feel bad that with all the crazy money I made that month I pretty much just spent on drugs. But then when you work crazy hours like that all week long all you want to do come the weekend is just get super fucked up.

Since, I can work from home, I can do the 9-6, but really only do 6 hours.
I think there's a stat out that says that people only put-in a good 5-6 hours anyway.

My normal hours are 9-6... but for the past 4 days I haven't left the office before 8. I don't even go out on weekdays anymore since I started working... maybe once or twice but I usually thoroughly fuck myself over for the next day.
Oh well. At least I don't have to deal with rush hour...

..that sounds about right. The rest of your work time is spend doing silly things like posting on forums boards..... oh wait....

But out of respect to the comp, I do give the time back by working at home.

the official working hours are 9.30am to 5.30pm.
but i gotta get to the office before my boss gets
there, and leave after he leaves.
so i get into the office around 7.30am to 8am
and i don't normally leave until after 7pm.
when we're closing deals it's normal to stay
till midnight. yeah, normally on production weeks,
we'll stay till midnight.
the latest i ever stayed at work was until 6am.
but that's only happened once.

Having to take your work home and/or working on weekend suck worse in my opinion. Sometimes you gotta go home to let the dogs out or whatever so you gotta go period. But as you walk out the other grunts like you would look at you funny like 'whaddafuck? we're still here and ur leaving?' Working on weekedn doesn't seem to jell with the mantra of 'work-life balance' that every company preaches including my company.
Yep, I am kinda jaded but I still do those things above. First, I have bills to pay but most importantly I feel a responsibility to finish my work with the best quality and would like to maintain my professionalism at all time. *sigh* yes I am a prisoner of my own conscience.

hmm i dont work late...but i do work long shifts on the weekends. 3pm-10pm on friday and 7am-6:00pm on sat/sun. i'd rather work that than doing graveyard shifts, id be so apart from the world sleeping during the day.

Daamn teaz0r, 6am?? That's crazy, what do you do?
The latest I've ever been in the office was 11pm. That wasn't fun... especially when I was takin' a sh*t and the lights went off in the bathroom. Damn cheap ass building.
Someone else also mentioned something about working at home. I loathe and despise bringing my work home. My home is supposed to be my haven from work.. so if I still have work to do I'll usually stay in the office as long as I have to to get it done. When I go home, all I want to do is roll a joint, watch tv, order some food, and go to bed. That's it.

My company's corporate culture goes along the line of people who leave at 5 at my company are perceived to be underperformed. Stupid notion if you ask me.

I work form 6pm until 2:30 am. Last week I was stuck at work and I was 4 hours shy of being there 24 hours straight.
Yeah, I hate the hours of my job. It's literally 24/7. Two nights ago, I got a call at 3am from a very, very stupid model who got locked out of her hotel room at the Palms in Vegas where we were doing a photo shoot. She didn't think to ask the front desk for help until I suggested it to her.
I was out until 4am last night overseeing a guest list for a major party that dissolved into fights and pissed-off fire marshals. I need sleep.
I used to work in Publishing, which I still adore. The hours in publishing are awesome. In the summer, we get "summer hours," which means 9-5 Mon- Thurs, and Friday's off. It's great.
