wasn't there a topic like this before? anyways, in atl its limelight at sutra on fridays and compound and vision on saturdays. vision isn't asian only, we're about 30-40% of the total (i think the same is true for compound but i never got to go in). too bad vision is closing soon they just remodeled not long ago and i thought the place was really hot.

come to think of it, every big city club i've been in for the past few years was either majority asian or overrepresented w/ asians. granted the only big cities i've gone to recently were atl, vegas and nyc, but still. party promoters better pay big time attention to us.

Whatever Soundfactory is called now, it's a fairly mixed crowd, but Club NV, down the street, seems to be Asian 24/7. But I'm really just talking out of my ass, because I am not and never was clued in to the club scene.

Because, probably, I'm not Asian enough. :redface:

I haven't been out so much as I don't promote parties anymore and I've been busy with school but Im still kinda appraised on whats going on in general.


This is accurate as of.. Jan/Feb of 06.


Fort Worth/Arlington:

Club Babilonia:
(its two clubs in one sorta... one half is mexican, one half is for lack of a better term, "thuggish AzNs". Usually most are young, 16 - 20. Some of the girls are quite cute, until they open their mouth. "my nikka, nikka what, shut up nikka, you get the idea.)

Cowboys:
This is more of a mixed affair but there are a number of UTA asians here.

I don't pay much attention to the fort worth scene.
Im sure there's one or two small bars/clubs that I'm forgetting the name of.


Dallas/Surrounding Area:

Purgatory: The biggest and one of the nicest clubs in Dallas.

Three floors (four if you count the basement bar/lounge, five if you count the VIP balcony).

It's theme is along the lines of (Hell, Purgatory, Heaven)
Probably DFW's "premier" club. It used to have regular "asian" nights on fridays and there's still a good number of them there friday night.
and there are still "asian events" like chinese new year held there
Its just not a regular party anymore.

Club Se7en(Seven):
More or less the primetime/mainstream asian club on friday nights.
Good mix of all kinds of sub-APA demographics (white-washed, fob, thug, normal, whatever). 18 for girls, 21 for guys.


Draelion: This has popped up on my radar recently. I haven't been there so I can't vouch for this venue. Judging from its promoters I'd say It'd be along the lines of seven regarding its crowd makeup.

Club Che: One of dallas' more upscale/classiest club. Its 23 for guys, 21 for girls. It's asian night is saturday. It's more of the older crowd and fob crowd. Predominantly korean/viet/chinese. I like the venue but the drink prices are ridiculous.

Club Angel: a smaller club but still pretty nice. It's where the UTD Lambda Fraternity throws their college night party. Mostly asians from UTD and SMU

Stress Room: From what I've heard its Dallas' equivalent of Babilonia. More of the "thuggish/gangsta AzNs" It's asian night is "friday". 18+ for all. Usually viet/khmai/laos/filipino. Haven't actually been to this venue yet either.

as far as violence goes.. there are the occasional fights at the club
they aren't the norm (I'm excepting the younger/thuggish venues as it's less complicated to ignore the younger crowd)

and as far as shootings go.. I've only witnessed 2 or 3 since I was 17 and I've only been shot at, at one of those times. and that particular firefight was between out-of-towners. "Crews" or Social circles that had "beef" between each other.

It basically went down is that a huge fight broke out.. everyone ran out of the club.. I was walking towards my car and someone is all like "Look, i think it's one of em oklahoma motha-fuckas. get 'im" and I like... look around wondering who the hell they are talking about until a bullet whizzes by my head. I immediatley get down on the ground behind a car and start crouch-walking (think metal gear solid) towards a brick wall where I see a cop radioing for help.

Here's the good part. He's all like.. did you see what car they were driving? I'm like "uhh... i think it was a honda accord or a civic? not sure." Cop to radio: "Stop all hondas within a 2 mile radius."

I hope i don't have to connect the dots for you.... asian party.... "stop all hondas within a 2 mile radius"
