I'm a novice.
I take forever to contemplate a move.
But I'm generally game.
ok, just to let you know, my yahoo games id is "didu_rocks" (it was "didu" but I forget the password :( ), I'm online most of the time so
feel free to give me a challenge, I'm not that good so you will probably
win a few games against me.

Oh u dispondent lot!
Chess is a game of mental agility, strategy and skill!!!
Try; Internet Chess Club or ICC
just download it and play BlitzIn...
the games r fast and furious and great fun...u play people from all over the world!!! Your ranking will go up if u keep winning!!!
But nothing beats face to face matches, also, do anybody know how to play Chinese Chess, not Chinese Checkers but proper Chinese Chess.
If there is a website on it, in or outside China, I would like to know!!!
Furthermore what about Mahjong??!!!!
You are supposed to be Asians after all, I'm not asking you to recite 1000 character Tang Dynasty Poetry, or write in a 2 foot calligraphy brush!!! For goodness sake....
Some aspects of Chinese culture is just great fun!!!

search for it.
rounds of boxing with chess blitz games in-between the boxing rounds.
The ultimate in physical and mental endurance.
It's actually kinda cool.

Hummm.....
Had a look, I think it...
Rather demeans both sports, I think it will only catch on for those who like a good puch up and a good laugh...in equal measures...at the same time...
Won't catch on in the UK
Sorry

I only play 2 minute blitz games these days, be it chess or chinese chess. It really comes down to who makes the first mistake. Sort of interesting that way.

Back at Purdue we, meaning the black cliques, would have tournaments in the lounge just for the hell of it. Playing it like other people play cards. That's where I actually learned, even though I don't play like I used to.
i think i won't be playing any online chess until i can beat gnuchess with a 2-step-look-ahead 9 out 10 times.

Same here. I know the movements enough to teach my son when he's old enough but I'd like to improve my play. I never learned any of the strategies.
