Every year there seems to be one positional japanese player who comes into the MLB who gets hyped. Who will be 2006's great japanese player?
2005 - Tadahito Iguchi
2004 - Kaz Matsui
2003 - Hideki Matsui
2002 - Kaz Ishii
2001 - Ichiro
Pitchers: Nomo, Irabu...

Kenji Johjima - C - Seattle Mariners
Kaz Matsui sucks, btw and Kaz Ishii (who also sucks) is a pitcher.

Johjima is the first japanese catcher too in the MLB. Seattle's was such a dissapointment last year.

coool... now my fantasy baseball team can be filled entirely by asians position-by-position.
(except for 3rd baseman... but that could be Norihiro Nakamura)

What a shitty team that would be.
You'd have a nice corner outfield though.

where is Nakamura nowadays? I think he was on the dodgers last and kinda got lost in the rotation.

Nakamura played on the Dodgers minor league team in Las Vegas. he was on a tear at some point... 8 homeruns in 10 games or so.

Originally, the Dodgers decided to go with Jose Valentin at 3rd, even though he sucked, but he got injured. So, that spot was open for Nakamura, but he didn't do well enough to keep it.
Althougth, the Dodgers kept Choi which was surprising since his biggest supported, Depo, got fired.
