it's not really taboo, but i think it gets a bad reputation sometimes. like it being a group hating on men and all that...
and well, to call myself a feminist.. it would be under the terms of not hating on men.. but focusing our issues as our own and that matters to us.. like health issues, anti violence against women, etc... which i guess can make it possible for men to consider themselves as feminist.. if they take an interest in such women's issues..

hm im definitely not a feminist -- juss a regular ol tomboy.
nope its not taboo to be labeled one.
the way i see it, feminists are take charge kinda gals that are very much for equality between the sexes. its the focus on womens issues and proving to the world that being female shouldnt have any restraints.

i see where you're coming from. and i agree, in part. i was very much against feminism when i was in high school. who wants to be one of [i:d27ae32fd6]those [/i:d27ae32fd6]girls? we all want to be girly girls.
i read somewhere--spray painted on the sidewalk actually--this quote, "i ask to not be treated like a doormat. and they call me a feminist." i think that's when i began to think of it differently.
men and women equal? definitely not. equal rights? definitely.

actually i have a thing against girly girls. people call me the anti-girl. lol. i dont mind dressing like one once in a while and fixing my hair that way -- the whole get up -- but i juss cant stand the ones that act like theyre too helpless to do anything for their damn selves. i mean, have some respect. show people ur not totally dependent on others.
i think its in part cuz i, like i said, am a tomboy. ive grown up with guys and my brothers all my life and from an early age learned to frown upon the girls who screamed about getting their hands dirty.
that doesnt mean that im totally not feminine, however. im many ways i am. thats partly why my nickname is princess.

i looked up the word feminism and found:
1 : the theory of the political, economic, and social equality of the sexes
2 : organized activity on behalf of women's rights and interests
so a feminist would be one who studies, practices and advocates feminism, right?
i never thought of myself as a feminist but i guess i am. just like any other "group" out there, we are constantly having to defend ourselves and our rights... the only "group" out there that isn't having to do so is the white man's group. why is that?
uh, this is turning into a rant. lemme stop here.
i'm a feminist...but not a bra-burning one. shiiiiit, miracle bras are the only reason i don't get mistaken for a man!!!

I would disagree. I think you'll find quite a few whites out there in message boards defending their right to fetishize Asian women :D
