View Full Version : Do you say when other guys are cute?

Some people have serious problems where they say they cant judge other guys because they are guys too, but I never had a problem being able to say if I thought another guy was cute or sexy. Girls don't seem to have that problem when referring to each other. Sometimes guys who hear me say things like that would accuse me of being gay and go into homophobic mode.

I am not gay at all, but I can still say when I think a guy is handsome and when he is not. Consequently, all of the celebs who are guys that I think are hot happen to be yellow too.

My boy comments on whether or not he thinks guys are good loooking.

I like a man who is comfortable enough with his sexuality to man enough to admit when another guy is good looking. He doesn't have to be all "OH SHIT that guy is HOT!" but you know... it's okay to appreciate it.

spence sometimes does. among the guys he and i agree are good looking: johnny depp, keanu reeves, brad pitt, matt le blanc, j.t. snow, troy glaus, brett favre..

yeah, i'm pretty homophobic (probably a sign of repressed homosexuality but whatever ;)) so i don't usually say "this dude is cute," unless it's abstractly, like "yeah i can see why he would be considered cute."

that's not counting jokes i make around friends. :)

but i think guys compensate for not saying some dude is sexy or cute by saying stuff like "that guy can get mad girls" or "that guy is mad diesel."

I don't think I've ever discribed a guy as cute...but handsome, good looking, attractive, and man-pretty I've used...

Cute just has a female and/or kid connotation to me.

vin is a top hottie in my book...and yeahhhh... that's right... he does have a twin.

anyhoOooO.... back to the quesiton:
I can only think of one of my male friends that has acknowledged that other guys are hot/ etc... and he's not gay.

I don't mind if guys talk about the attractiveness of other males....as long as they throw a compliment my way in the mix of the conversation... ha ha ha...

Same here, I kinda just kick into hyper homophobe mode usually when guys comment about other guys being cute *with only guys in the room* and get anxious once anyone touches me . . . considering I live in one of the places with the biggest homosexual population outside of Amsterdam , but then again giving props to a guy who is attractive and like works at it, well, yeah I guess he can be "attractive to women", but I'd never use "cute" on a guy . . . . that's . . . . awkward fer me . . .

I live in a country where the guys are more prettier than women.
They actually want to be cute, so that they can get women, as
evidenced by the number of beauty clinics that cater to men.
I mean, guys have silky long hair, perfect white complexion,
slender fingers with perfec fingernails, and narrow shoulders,
and the chicks go crazy over them. Me, I'm macho, so you
won't find no women around me. They say I'm sweaty and
that I smell. I scored more women in Canada despite my
skin colour.

I agree. If you're a guy, you shouldn't be heard describing other guys as "cute" or "sexy". That's gay. Good-looking or handsome are totally different.

i won't say cute. or handsome. but i'll say "looks good" or "looks like a badass." my old roommate for example looked real good and i always said so. he always had trouble keeping girls out of his pants.

on the other hand, i've said that andy roddick looks like a "badass." but maybe thats partly b/c of the way he plays tennis.

as for pretty boys... i'll never say anything about them except pansy. like those male korean pop singers that wear all that makeup. all FREAKING pansies!!!

Back at the old job, were most of the staff is Chinese, there was this one guy that even my mom said was handsome, and I've never heard her say that about a stranger before. By anyone's definition, this guy is cute. And he's also the friendliest guy at work too. And easy to work with. Some of the kdis told me he lives with his girlfriend. I'm envious of his looks and charm. :(

For me I don't usually say it unless they have been friends with me for a while. If a gay guy does say something, it just mean they think you're gay and HOPE that you are gay. If you're not just say. "Thanks, but I'm straight." and that will do the trick. LOL. *all those stories about converting straight guys to gay are HORRIBLE rumours. LOL* well maybe....

Hah! pfc. That is exactly what all my guys say, "he's alright..." and then let out a nervous laugh or else they scoff, but I know inside, they're comparing themselves to that hot guy.

I can tell which guys will be attractive to women or men, and the ones that won't. Has nothing to do with being a homosexual.

I don't have a problem with it, but I would never say something like "that guy's cute!" or "that dude's working it!", no it would be more like, "look at that damn pretty boy"......I think that's how most guys compliment a guy on his looks, lol.

i think guys compliment other guys in subtle ways, there are words they avoid. like guys will not call another guy handsome and sure as hell not cute. maybe they'll call him a stud or a pimp or that he can bench "hella weight" or that he gets hella poon that sorta thing

ill think to myself if a guy has charm or good looks but i will not say it out loud

I call other guys good-looking, when the idea needs to be expressed. Simple and direct. Better than calling them handsome, because when I hear handsome, it sounds like a last minute substitution for 'real hot' or 'real fine'.

i think there's a difference between saying "that guy is an attractive looking guy." and saying "i am attracted to that guy." all too often it is deemed "unmanly" or expressive of homosexual tendencies to be making such comments, but i think in the minds of everyone.. they know what's attractive and what's not. as many have said, a man completely comfortable with himself won't be afraid to express such an opinion.

mr. x

my old science teacher in high school (she was a young liberal Stanford type) said that guys who use words like "fag" and are homophobic have latent homosexuality

i can see where she's going, i mean myself am secure in the fact that i like girls and i dont really have a problem with gays (whereas other guys cant stand standing next to em and so forth so i wonder where the overt homophobia comes from

I check out guys all the time and I'm a heterosexual.

When I go somewhere, I always assess the guy-girl ratio and relative attractiveness of the guys there (sizing up the competition).

I do similar but I don't say "damn! that guy is too cute for me to compete with!"
