Universal Pictures has acquired the Tom Pabst drama pitch Turbulence, which Mirage partners Sydney Pollack and Anthony Minghella will produce, reports Variety.
Pabst will write the script about an L.A.-based pilot who is frustrated by his life until, over the course of several flights to Tokyo, he stumbles on a conspiracy that fascinates him. Soon, he's drawn to commit a crime that leads him into the arms of a beautiful woman and into the Tokyo underworld.
Mirage most recently produced The Interpreter for Universal. Pabst's credits include the New Line's Fracture and Indianapolis at Warner Bros. He's writing and executive producing the Fox pilot Eye in the Sky.
