LONG BEACH, California (CNN) -- A 194-vehicle pileup Sunday morning on a freeway south of Los Angeles left more than 40 people injured, five seriously, police said.
The accident occurred shortly before 7 a.m. (10 a.m. EST) and prompted the California Highway Patrol to close a two-mile stretch of Interstate 710 in both directions until Sunday afternoon.

Well, you should try driving through some of the fog around here before you say anything. Seriuosly, sometimes you can't see brake lights until they're RIGHT in front of you. And driving slow doesn't help that much either.

Werd.. you'd think ONE of them would stop. But then again, there's a reason why crazy LA drivers have the reputation...

well i do think driving way too fast in thick fog is a cause for that pileup. You don't hear that bad in San Francisco and we get more fog than you guys down there.

Lately, it's been HELL driving on the freeway in the mornings. Everybody's all scared, so now they're all driving slow as FUCK in the fog.

it only takes a 194 car pileup to actually get LA drivers to finally slow down. I think that is a first.

I think that was more of a one-two day thing.
