Wedding Crashers Crew Reunites for Comedy

Wedding Crashers director David Dobkin and production company Tapestry Films are reuniting for another R-rated comedy that promises plenty of sparks, says The Hollywood Reporter.
The untitled Warner Bros. release centers on a Southern father who meets his three daughters' boyfriends for the first time at Thanksgiving. The boyfriends turn out to be an Arab, a Jew and a black man.
Dobkin and Tapestry principal came up with the idea; writers Tim Rasmussen and Vince DiMeglio, who did uncredited work on Meet the Fockers, will begin writing immediately.

Hmm...this'll be interesting.
As long as the father is eminently unlikeable before he spouts off his presumed racist remarks, it should be OK. Adding a Latin man and an Asian man for a 4th and 5th daughter might've been too much I guess.

If they really wanted wanted to be edgy, they should put an Asian guy. Guess they're not as "edgy" as they think they are.

They'll probably paint him as Middle Eastern and make terrorist jokes.
Also the Jew and the Arab might have some issues.
South Asian is really just the Indian Subcontinent, India and Pakistan mostly.

Hollywood rarely is "edgy". they only market their productions as so.

You'd be surprised at the amount of shit that Jewish people get in the south. You're talking about Baptist country here. It might not be an ethnic problem, but it's a huge religious issue given the fervent beliefs that many southern Christians have. And keep in mind that this guy's not just a friend of a daughter, but there's a chance that he'll join the family. The Jewish guy is probably boinking her too. The dynamic gets much different in that situation no matter how nominally open-minded many parents are.
Maybe he's a NYC Jewish caricature who wears a yarmulke, sports Hasidic curls, and has a huge nose. You know, that'd just be to emphasize the culture clash.

Baptist as in Southern Baptist? i've known plenty of very religious protestant Christians, but they're all up in the Northeast. they never seem to have a problem with Jewish people. it could be different in the South of course, especially if they're Southern Baptist, who as far as i'm concerned are crazy.

lol, that's exactly what came to mind when I read this. Wedding Crashers was pretty funny though, so we'll see.

True..but I do give them some props for adding in an Arab. That's really pushing it these days.
