Just got his album and gee I love tracks:

谈入谈出 (R&B style) Good Mandarin R&B.
夏天的味道 (Pop) Love the lyrics (apparently done by students winning some sort of country wide competition).
相信 Mandarin version of "长情” ....Pretty good lyrics and soothing music.

Great Album but some tracks suck.

Anyone here heard of it?

You can find him on iTunes!

But under, get this --
* World, and
* Latin.

Mandarin - Latin. :rolleyes:

What's supposed to be the english translation of the LP title? I'm listening to something released for 2005 and it doesn't smack me of being R&B. Pop really. But he sings nice.

Anybody know where I can get a hold of old old old Jackie Cheung songs? We're talking 80's here.

Oh god, can someone please shoot this guy.... He's passed his prime and yet still trying to make ends meat from singing. How can a a 40 year old compete with the new generation stars that all Hong Kong girls get wet, despite none of them can actually sing.....

I swear the young generation people of Hong Kong are tone death....

Wait, so is this album predominantly in Cantonese or Mandarin?

that goes for all four of the "Heavenly Kings". although i admit Jacky Cheung is really a good singer, even though i don't listen to him. and i like Andy Lau's acting, i only wish he'd stop singing and step down and give room to the younger generation.

That's because many of their mother tongue is NOT Cantonese or Mandarin, rather it's English. They can't sing simply because the HK entertainment industry is based on asthetics and not talent as such. People that can actually sing or act are LESS reknowned in HK than guys like Leon Lai who is rather stoic and can't sing for shit.

Having said that, Leon is blessed with a freggin good writer and composer (mainly Mark Lui). I like his songs, not his singing, rather catchy stuff.

Hey, if Ashlee Simpson can find a fan base with that raspy, the world can find room in their hearts for Leon. :rolleyes:

hah!

i've downloaded a lot of MP3s in the past when the whole file-sharing trend started. but now i mostly listen to CDs because i get really annoyed at bad rips that i ended up downloading a lot of the time. i don't buy many CDs though, but that's what i usually listen to now.

I believe in purchasing the MP3s which you like. Most Mp3s encoded are at 128kps anyway, way below CD quality.

the same kind that supports HK's DIY/independent music scene. :smile:

Is Lai Ming's new album like his recent new stuff (quite dancey) or like his older stuff? I'm so old skool I like the old ballads and stuff. Sad, I know. :redface:
