Okay the postseason begins tomorrow. Here's the matchups:
Red Sox vs. White Sox ... Tadahito Iguchi is the White Sox' 2nd baseman
Yankees vs. Angels ... Hideki Matsui is the Yankee's left fielder. Chien-min Wang is one of their pitchers
Padres vs. Cardinals ... So Taguchi is the Cardinals' backup center fielder, but he usually gets a few at bats every game. The Padres have Chan Ho Park, but I don't know if he'll be pitching.
Astros vs. Braves ... no Asians, that I know of.
So now yall know which teams to root for: White Sox, Yankees, Padres, and the Cardinals

Shit, when you put it like that, now it's a problem on who to root for.
I'll go with the Yankees! Matsui had a great year, I hear. Wouldn't it be cool to see him as an MVP in a World Series!

root for the yankees not cuz they have asians on their team. but, because they're winners. everybody loves a winner or loves to hate the winners.

Matsui had a horrible postseason. Everybody's going to be slamming ARod for sucking it up, but Matsui didn't do any better. If he had gotten a crucial hit or two, the Yankees would have won the series. Whenever Matsui got up to bat, there were always men in scoring position. And, even though Matsui got the rep as a clutch hitter from all his RBIs, he didn't drive anybody in.
Now, he's a free agent, so it'll be interesting to see where he goes and how much he gets paid. He's a good player, who gives you tons of RBIs and always makes the right move in the outfield. Even though he's one of the best players in Japan, I wouldn't consider him a great or upper caliber player. Considering all the homeruns, I expected some more homeruns from him. He got a pass his first season to get adjusted to american baseball, and his second season there was definite improvement with the homeruns. You were expecting even more improvement this season, but his homers regressed.
The Yankees supposedly want him, even though they detest his agent. I don't know how well it would work with any other teams. He's basically a guy who gives you a lot of RBIs, but those numbers have been inflated cause of the Yankees offesnive firepower where they always have guys on base. I've seen lots of times where he hits a grounder that scores somebody. But, that only works cause somebody is in scoring position. What happens if he goes to a new team without the same offensive power.
