malaysian haze

the haze in malaysia has caused bad air warnings. no kidding.

the haze isn't caused by driving however. it's caused by ppl in indonesia burning land for farming.

they've also been getting hail b/c of the dust particles in the high atmosphere. i'm glad i don't live downwind of indonesia.

You can do all the environmental protection you want, but if your next door neighbours have such a fucked-up, corrupt economy that people go and burn the jungle to get some crappy farmland which will be useless in a few years, in order to produce EVEN MORE agricultural products, as though the world didn't already have enough of those ...

Yea, it's really bad this summer. My cousins told me that they were advised against driving, and some offices in town are closed. Luckily I went back in June and not now....
