:) I knew about reactions like this before YW. I've been on the receiving end a few times myself.

Man, I wish I could say something incredibly insightful that would help. The only thing I can think of is I understand that it hurts and it sucks. Also, don't let this one comment stand for every last YW member's point of view.

I just HATE it when people do that to me. As if they understand genetics to begin with. In nearly ALL cases, they don't. Sorry to see that people do that to you.

People do that all the time. I guess it's normal tho. Usually I don't tell people about it right away, I let them figure it out over time.

I just love it tho when people hear about it and they are like... But you don't look Korean at all.

I think the problem here is that you need to have the dropped civic with the shopping cart wing, 3 inch scoop on the front, and the 10 inch exhaust pipe that gives you 20hp. If they saw you in that then they would think that this guy has to have some Asian in him.

I took my non spruced up stock civic to get tire rotation in the summer and the Korean mechanic was talking to me when I went to pick it up.

He said "Is that your car?"

"Yea"

Then he shook his head and looked at me.

"That's a shame, What a waste!"

Speaking of which. Why's every Caucasian who expresses an interest in Asian culture automatically labeled as a Asianphile with yellow fever? I get kinda irked when people start whinning and moaning about whites expressing a interest in Asian culture to some capacity. My mother's White, she married a Korean man, she respects Korean culture, does that make her a Asianphile? No.

She is not an asiaphile because she is a woman.

That's the consensus that I am getting from here.

The only way to possibly be an asiaphile is if you are a non-asian man (or white looking half korean man like me) who has an asian girlfriend that asian people think is attractive.

I never see anyone complaining about asiphiles when the girl is butt ugly.

Yeah, right. I've seen loads of Asian guys hating on guys who aren't exactly the picture of "Asianness" driving fixed up cars.
