d.c. = dining commons.
considering the number of asians at each university, do you think that they should regularly serve asian food in the d.c.? what would you like to see? what would be practical?

fried rice and noodles are easy to make and they'd be great on university campuses, i think.
maybe the problem is that not many non-Asian cooks will know how to cook Asian food, so you basically need to be hiring Asian cooks to make those dishes. i think if the Asian students petition for more Asian food, especially on some UC campuses, it shouldn't be too difficult to make it happen.

i've had asian d.c. food before. doesn't really taste that good though :frown: but that goes for d.c. food in general.

In University of MD, they tried to put Asian things on the menu but they bombed every time.
The worst was "Korean barbeque tofu." Uggh that was just horrid.
I think they got it close to right once when they had ramen. But there weren't any chopsticks to eat it with, so you had to use forks.
Not many people went for it anyway.
Not if they are going to mess it up...
Ha ha brings up warm memories. So one day, years ago, in Ohio (of all places), I saw on the menu 'Chicken Chow Mien'. This is the first time I was from home so hell yeah.
Okay, I did not expect much, but boy was I totally wrong.
They had some sort of Chicken a la King kind of thing, and then they sprinkled some fried chow mien substance on the rice.
What the....?
There is an expression in Chinese, 'can't neither laugh nor cry...'
You should have seen the expression on my face...
the Orange Chicken was craptastic!
the other 'asian' dishes were not very memorable cuz i can't remember any others.

I think they made the eggrolls with leftover tortillas from Fiesta Night.

refer to my lean cuisine thread. i called them to tell them that their chicken chow mein was actually chicken fried rice. they sent me one free coupon and apologized.
