For those who watch pro-wrestling...

Dunno if this was discussed before. But was watching WWE Smackdown and noticed a sign that said, "Batista is Filipino". So I started doing some researching and found this:

Notes:
Dave Batista was born David Bautista, is of Greek and Filipino ancestry, is part of "Evolution" with wrestlers Triple H, Ric Flair, and Randy Orton.

Probably first pro wrestler of Filipino ancestry to hold a WWE wrestling title (Tag Team Champion with Ric Flair, 2003).

From: http://hometown.aol.com/zeldaforest/batista/bio.html

Training under Afa, The Wild Samoan, Batista began his career in March 1999. Batista's first debut was 11 July 1999 at Sportsfest. A WWF wrestler named Gillberg issued an open challenge to which Batista accepted. Batista was un-named at this point and an unknown wrestler to WWF. Later on 30 October 1999, Batista debuted as Kahn for WXW (World Xtreme Wrestling). Batista experienced an WWE tryout. Afterwards in March 2000, he was signed to a developmental contract where he was sent to Ohio Valley Wrestling in Louisville (Kentucky) where he became known as Leviathan. In May 2002, Batista became Deacon to D-Von's charade. In September 2002 Batista as Deacon gave his final SmackDown! performance. Later Ric Flair and Triple H took interest in the ex-Deacon who then became Batista. During March 2003 Batista was sidelined with a tricep tear and was scheduled for operation and a return late fall 2003 to RAW and Evolution. He has been tag-team championship with Ric.

All depends on who's 'over' at the time.

Right now, I think Batista will get a win. It'd be a great matchup considering Batista's popularity with the fans and the Rock's past popularity. But knowing how things are in pro-wrestling and the Rock's own past record, the Rock will probably put over Batista. He did with Goldberg and The Hurricane outta all people.

my favorite wrestler is still triple H. but, hell in a cell was a great match.

batista was a former training partner with bodybuilding pro king kamali.

no more triple H vs batista anymore since batista got drafted to smackdown.

Wrestling is boring.

They need to have real deathmatches where they fight a polar bear hopped up on horse steroids.

Hahaha so true man. The absurdity and the cheesiness are so over the top. The Rock got some pretty good lines back in the days. I used to watch wrestling a few years back with my cousins and some of the buddies from the office. Heck, I went to Wrestlemania in Houston! LOL I love 'em ladder match with the Hardy Boys, Edge and Christian, and the two brothers team that has one white and the other black.

I love how this one article I read called it, "drama for men". The storylines suck, a lot of them can't act to save their lives, and there's always internal politics that screws up the storylines even further. But you know what, it gives us violence, drama, and some really great displays of athleticism. So what if its all scripted? That's why its sports entertainment.

Oh, just a "drafting" of certain superstars from the two "brands" so that new fueds and storylines can be created.

i have to say with triple-h missing in action. my favorite wrestler is JBL. i liked how he tossed around that little japanese wrestler last night.

I find the whole "JBL as reincarnated Million-Dollar Man" character boring. Much preferred him as the borderline-retarded half of the Acolytes Protection Agency.

Whatever happened to Faarooq?

same here. thats probably the main reason i used to watch, the comedy. the rock was the best at cutting a promo, along with kurt angle when he was a gooofy heel (slang term for "bad guy"). nowadays i have school and work so i dont watch anymore. that along with the fact the wrestling industry is monopolized and has become generic and highly predictable also makes me avoid watching it when i have free time.
