hi folks!

real new here so, forgive me if i post stuff that is old hat

i'm still trying to figure out how to effectively use the 'search' function!

i tried to lookup the Chinese born actors who played 2nd/3rd bananas(bamboo) in the Charlie Chan serials from the 1930's (wasn't sure if i got 'hits' or not):

...so i resorted to 'google' instead:
http://www.charliechan.net/offspring.html

'Luke Keyes'
This is the guy who played 'Number 1 Son', could be heard saying with an American accent no less!, "Aw, gee, pops!" to his father 'Charlie Chan'.
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0525601/

and

'Victor Sen Yung' or 'Victor Sen Young'
This is the guy who played 'Number 2 Son', a character not unlike 'Number 1' in the Charlie Chan series.
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0950958/

supreme irony...

all i remember is the sad revelation of discovering about 14 years ago (1991) when Luke Keyes died, news stories reviews revealed that the one playing Master Po in the 'Kung Fu' TV series in the 1970's ...relegated to, well an old chinese monk, doing the stereotypical role/accent was the same 'Number 1 Son' (Aw, gee, pops!).

and a greater irony...
and now that i saw the imdb website info, Keye Luke also played 'Kato' in the 1939 Universal series 'The Green Hornet'! (TV released in 1990)
(...and Victor Sen Yung plays Tamo/Master Ling)

Keye Luke/Number 1 Son in Charlie Chan/Kato in 'The Green Hornet'/Master Po in 'Kung Fu'

Bruce Lee/Kato in 'The Green Hornet'/...didn't get part in 'Kung Fu' he was hoping for (Kwai Chang Caine)... (maybe he could play Master Po/Master Ling as a youth? no, not even a bit part!)

juxtapose the above two 'Kato's'
ouch!
double ouch!

(who knew about this info; is this old to most of you? if so, sorry folks!)

i'm surprised at this, too.
although i did use what would normally be expletives, but i was trying to be clear and as blunt as possible without there being censored if the forum has an automatic feature doing this.
(i wasn't trying to be foul mouthed as it is totally out of my character.)
i will have to find that thread and clarify why i wrote what is wrote.
