Do I need to inform my old college that I'm not attending anymore, or can I just not register for classes?

hmm...well, won't you be transferring course units from your old school to the new one?

If you don't tell them, they'll probably assume you're registering, and record you as being indebted for a registration fee plus tuition or something. Then they'll hold your transcript hostage until you pay those. And yeah, like moJo said, then transferring units becomes a problem.

I would tell them. Because you need to probably sign some papers that say you're transferring and such. They might bill you for tuition like Ali said.

You should also look to see if you need to notify any financial aid programs that you won't be going to Baruch anymore.

You may need to do an exit interview from your old school if you were on financial aid.

Do yourself a favor and call your departments to find out what the process is. Clarify everything to your counselor or whoever is in charge of the students in the respective departments. Also, if you've filed everything and finished everything with the admissions and records, call up the accounting for your school to make sure everything's fine. Make sure you CALL them. E-mails take too long.

I'm sort of out of the country... and our tuition is paid by credit, like a credit = money, no credits = no money.
