Didn't Amy mention this before if the woman was Japanese and asked this question you were supposed to reply "mochiron" ? Wait, I could be wrong, maybe it was "totemo".

Ha ha….
Well - I think that HOW you answer this question depends on your relationship with the woman who asks you ...

If she's your gurl... and you're in a long-term very happy, honest & open relationship...
Then -- you hopefully you’d know her well enough -- to know how SHE would want you to answer the question... Hopefully you'd know if she was just fishing for a compliment, or asking your honest opinion…
If she’s fishing for a compliment… give her one… if she’s asking your honest opinion – give her that!

In most other case [if she’s a good friend, acquaintance, or someone who you’d WANT as your gurl] it’s probably the safest thing to “just say no”… :P

p.s. I'm new here... so -- hello to you all. I still haven't gone over to visit the Intro forum... but I plan to soon...

"of course not, honey." is always an acceptable response. even if i look fat, you're supposed to say i look hot. but make sure you look up before you answer. look up and have me turn around a lil bit and go "damnn!!!..you look fuckin HOT."

dude i thought guys were hardwired for that response. even with friends i say that. female that hears yes to that answer = u ded.

If somebody EVER said yes to that question, ohh shit I'd be mad. "Do I look fat?" is a question we ladies ask when we feel fat, and just need reassurance to leave the house.

Here's a simple bogus math equation I was able to cook up by reading this thread.
The value of "Do I look fat?"(given as f) is always equal to the value "Do you want to die?"(given as d)
So, if the value is positive, the value of f=death
If a negative value, f=live.

Damn I feel smart. :D

On a side note, I don't think you have to worry about that, AN. You look pretty thin in that pic, providing it is YOUR pic.

I also wonder why chicks tend to take pics of themselves shoulder-up. Are they hiding something?

"let me get some pushin in that cushion and we'll find out."

Dunno. I've never had to ask the question. What I have is ass - not fat. And if I was fat I wouldn't be so stupid to have to get someone else to confirm it.

Okay, I thought so. You look pretty cute, BTW.
Anyway, the ladies in the recent past that have sent pics only send headshots. Like they were that big floating head in the OLD OLD Power Rangers show.(Ah, those were the days.)
Anyway, yeah. Uh.. yeah.. Visit my site and stuff.

what's the point in asking the question if you don't want to hear "yes"? i mean i don't want to lie to the girl.

well --
it's good that you don't want to lie to the girl. in general... lying is not a good thing.

however........ if I really wanted the truth to the question:
"Do I look fat?" I would never ask a guy.
I'd ask my sister... or my mom... or one of my friends who knows me at my best & worst (weight-wise, personality-wise...etc...) who I know could provide a true answer.

I don't want to hear the truth from a guy, (if the answer is -"yes" I look fat)... kuz I'm a girl, and I'm sensitive... and in all honesty -- it might hurt my self esteem, if I wasn't in so great of a mood..... ;)

However, receiving a true response from a guy saying that I do look fat might NOT hurt my self esteem on a good day....!!!

ha ha... so... I know I'm just making no sense at all... :retard:

SWK - are you getting a sense of an answer to your question yet, or what????????

since all of my responses are so confusing, and since you asked again about 'what's the point of asking the question -- do i look fat?'

personally, I rarely ask guys this question.
It's just way tooo loaded..... and like I mentioned b4, if I'm really talking seriously about my weight / getting in shape, I ask my sis, or a friend.

When a boy tells her she looks good, she'll believe it, no matter what. You ask the question so that you can get a quick ego boost before you leave the house.

But I don't ask. I know guys hate that question. Sometimes I say "Eww, I'm getting fatter." Because that way, no matter what the boy says, it doesn't matter. He'll either just laugh and say it's cute or say "I think you look GREAT." Either works for me.

They might not be CONVINCED they are not fat, but they take what you say seriously. If you say they're not, they feel 100x better. Even if you're lying. It's the fact that women need to HEAR it... THEY might not believe that they're not fat, but they might believe that YOU think they're not. Make sense? It's complicated. Women just like reassurance.
