hands on my face
elbows on my knees
tears trickle through
the crevices of my fingers
how sad it is
to see dreams fade with failures
how quickly aspirations turn to
another inspiration gone sour
in the mouths
of the ones who consumed hopes
like water from the fountain of faith
the ones who dared to try.
the ones who lived with
sadness in their
hearts and still
kept their heads held high
to the sky.
