Hi all...

I'm interested in getting a webcam setup for a web site. I would like it to be on 24-7 and update every 30minutes or so.... Can anyone give me some directions or point me to some documentations?

Does software come with a webcam? Besides an ISP, does the server have to have any thing special or is it all up to the webcam software?

LOL, sorry, NO clue how to make a live webcam thing. But i DO knwo that software comes with the webcam. =)

You can download the vidio suite for free. I got the webcam to work with our Sony Digital 8 Camcorder in real time with the firewire interface. The only problem is that the Camcorder shuts off when idle after a few minutes. It should work with any generic USB webcam as well.

To make your webcam viewable to the outside world you may need to have a cable modem or dsl.

When I want to do a live broadcast, I just Yahoo! Geocities webcam. And then if I want people to see it, I just send them the link. I usually put a popup box on my website that allows you to view it. And I don't mind having people stare at me because theirs a control panel that allows you to know when people are watching. So I know not to do anything questionable when more people than I invited are watching. =) I usually only use it when me and somebody else are both broadcasting, so we can laugh and point at each other. LOL.,

I use yahoo messenger for their webcam feature. And that would be all I know about live webcam. haha.

I have an ibook and the Isight looks great. I'm not sure how to work it into a websight though, and not too sure anyone would be interested in watching me 24/7 :)

Oh man, you made me feel missed! You just made my day, thanks!! I missed you guys, I've been so busy with the new job and all the training, but I'm injured and I don't have a choice but to slow things down a bit.

It's really good I don't have a webcam, all you'd see is me in bed with my leg elevated on a pillow :)
