Lately I have been unable to sleep, or been having lots of disturbed sleep ie nightmares. My buddy list is bare, there's no one around to rant against ... sigh.
I'll be 40 in about two weeks time, and I think I've been a bit depressed about that for about the last eight months. Life is a disapointment, Prince Charming never came along, my career future is uncertain, and those members of my family I actually love and like are either elderly or in very poor health.
I know a lot of suicides are done when people are emotionally wrought or under a lot of pressure. I don't feel any type of pressure, but I do find myself wondering whether now would be a good time to 'go', before quality of life starts to slide.
What do you lot think when you are on the PC and no one is around? Do you have philosophical moments?

It's never too late to do something that interests you. In my philosophy class last semester there was a student that must be like 70+. My mom is old and she's going to start learning the computer.
Anyways I usually think what I've been doing that day and what I need to get done the next day =[.

I write them on my LJ or on my personal journal. Sorry to hear about all the bad things. I'm going some hard times myself. I hope and know things are going to get better. Take it easy, it's probably a good idea to get yourself away from the computer and do something that involves moving. Running has probably been the best things that's helped me get over some of my worst moods.
I hope it all goes well. Things'll work out.

I have thought in the past:
Who the hell thought Kianna Dior was so special (that she should be everywhere)? :frown:
Could I get away with claiming that I was 33 for a few more years?
Currently keep wondering:
Why http://news.google.com allows all these fucking satirical news articles. What a waste of linkage connectage.
For such a good website, http://www.religioustolerance.org sure has an ameturish design.
Oh... I’m sorry that you’re feeling so down but I hope that you don’t really believe that it’s a good time to “go"... I know things can seem bleak when you feel like there’s no one that understands but you’re not alone and there a lot of people that go through spouts of depression. If you do feel yourself sinking deeper then I really hope you would seek help. There are several online support groups and such. I wish I could recommend one but I never used one... However, I’m sure you can easily find them and choose the one that you feel suits your needs. I really wish you all the best and hope that things get better for you soon. *hugs*

Melatonin helps with sleep. Maybe if you got some good, consistent, quality snooze time it would help perk you up? Make things look a little brighter?
And that's my helpful bit: Drugs. Do them and life will be better.

Makes you wonder if life's anxieties could be cured, a little, by just "getting some".

First time round I misread that as "good, consistent, quality booze time". I was just thinking what a good idea that was ...

I ponder dark and sinister thoughts during my off hours.
Having said that, it's never too late to take on new challenges. My friend's dad switched careers at the age of 45 and he's doing quite well right now as an IT consultant. Don't worry too much about these things. Live one day at a time.

If all you're suffering is a little mid life crisis, then perish the thought of perishing by your own hand.
I understand from people who have survived jumps from the San Francisco Golden Gate Bridge, the moment they had jumped, they had second thoughts.

Honestly I think suicidal people have some problems in the brain. We aren't programmed to desire to kill ourselves.

Thanks for that insight.

I don't think suicide is always from depression. So if you're depressed from reflection, I don't think that alone makes you suicidal. And you're only "suicidal" if you actually do it (or try really hard). Thinking about doing it doesn't mean you are. At least in my book. So, if you're depressed and thinking about suicide but don't do it, you're alright.
Whew I hope I'm good now. Sorry for the generalisation.

Translation: if you think you are suicidal, get on with it then.

Life is a disapointment, Prince Charming never came along, my career future is uncertain, and those members of my family I actually love and like are either elderly or in very poor health.
Your life is more than the product of the people around you. In the past forty years, what you have grown to love, hate, respect, disregard, forget? If you feel like your life is in a rut, maybe it's time for a change, some people have suggested a career change?
Personally I suggest coming to places like this to vent, or anywhere to vent, and get what bottles up inside of you out.
Suicidal thoughts are a natural thing. And, in my opinion, they are very real, as it seems like you feel like people are just disregarding your concerns with them. I think that if you take them every time, and make a real conscious effort to answer the question "Why not?" it will help dispel it's romanticized illusion of escape. what would you miss out on, who would you miss out on? Ask those you love that you say are getting older, and ask them why they haven't yet? Don't let other people's happiness act as a standard for you to live by, it's all a front. Nobody is all that happy all the time, so you're not alone. Somebody's always willing to listen.

The thread is supposed to be about what goes through your head in the wee small hours. I've told you what goes through mine, it's your turn ...
Re "that", there's virtually nothing anyone can say to change my mind about "it", because it isn't an opinion that can be swayed by sage advice, it's how I feel.
