From UCLA, while a bunch of underqualified students that I know got in. I'm lost.
Sorry to hear that. College admissions criteria vary wildly from college to college, and unless you're solidly qualified, you will end up in that bin which is chosen nigh-randomly (well, besides Alumni influence, diversity goals, etc.). Hope you fare better with your other applications, and if you're intent on getting into UCLA, you can transfer in. Doesn't matter where you start, but where you end up.

good luck, wherever your studies take you.
I know it might not seem like support now, but I know a lot of people who were rejected from their first choice school, but are absolutely loving where they are, now.

I'm sorry to hear about that, but 'underqualified' isn't a term that should be associated with the UCs. You're qualified to go to an UC as long as you fulfill their requirements. While it sucks, don't worry, you're going to get into some place good. : )
These decisions can be so random.

No worries! I will bet if you were qualified enough to even apply to UCLA you can in someplace better or equal to it. Things will turn out right for you if you keep up being smart.

this is so true, trust in the universe and have faith..i know youre probably thinking, shut up you stupid hippy bitch but seriously, a similar thing happend to me when i was applying to universities and things worked out better than i could have imagined..
it's difficult to gauge how the UC admissions works these days. it used to be all about your "numbers" but it's more complex now. sorry about not getting into the school that you want, but like ism said, you can always try transferring in later.
I agree with so many other posts. From an "insider" point of view undergraduate admissions could be such a random process without much rhyme and reason. Also, the outcome depends on the overall quality of the entire brethren. The best recourse is to do well at some other institution and then seek a transfer.

Yeah seriously, don't worry dude, there are still multiple avenues you can try, from appealing, to transferring, to even just harassing them. it's not as easy with a large school like ucla but if you keep sending them info on yourself, transcripts, tests, recommendations, you might be able to get a second shot.

i think it's funny how people want to go to certain schools when these schools don't want them. just a funny thought.

I agree, there are lots of places that one can get a quality education or university education.

Man, i'm sorry. I was really upset when i was rejected from my college of choice. Just do really well wherever you're going and denounce UCLA when you make a lot of money!
