I did a search for a movie thread dedicated specifically to Asian films, and couldn't find any, so here's a start.

Has anyone watched the movie I Not Stupid (http://www.kfccinema.com/reviews/comedy/inotstupid/inotstupid.html) ? It's a Singaporean film that came out a few years ago and it's pretty funny, and depressing at the same time. The movie is mostly a social commentary on how Singaporeans are losing their cultural identity and losing their independent will as well; slowly turning into brainless, obedient zombies who are totally into Western culture.

The story follows 3 children who, through having to work, not being academically inclined, or just being fat and stupid, are dropped into the EM3 category of their school (EM1 being for smarties, EM3 being for those considered too stupid to spend time on), and how they try to get by and not piss off their parents. Some of it's pretty funny.

Also, does anyone know any Singaporeans? The way they speak english in this film almost reminded me...of Jamaican, with an influx of Filipino accent.

Most of my relatives are from Singapore. You can easily spot a Singaporean by their accents.

Film looks interesting.
